10.18.2006 13:27 Chuck Olsen is coolthis is an abomination.
I second that.
Now, now….
Funny, isn’t it, how Big Media have noticed the “realness” of blogs and the connections audiences form to them, and are now moving as fast as they can to twist the new tools to their old, nefarious ends.
Or maybe “tragic” is the better word.
chuck in a tree = greatness!
chuck, he doesn’t care about quality, that much.
you still own your stuff when you post to youtube
from the youtube terms page:
“For clarity, you retain all of your ownership rights in your User Submissions. However, by submitting the User Submissions to YouTube, you hereby grant YouTube a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicenseable and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the User Submissions in connection with the YouTube Website and YouTube’s (and its successor’s) business, including without limitation for promoting and redistributing part or all of the YouTube Website (and derivative works thereof) in any media formats and through any media channels. You also hereby grant each user of the YouTube Website a non-exclusive license to access your User Submissions through the Website, and to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display and perform such User Submissions as permitted through the functionality of the Website and under these Terms of Service. The foregoing license granted by you terminates once you remove or delete a User Submission from the YouTube Website.”
Michael Verdi is our other terrific editor. What a dope I am!
Oh, and nice hair Amanda. That wind makes it look nice and DIIIIIRRRT-AY!
Thank for the interview Chuck. We laughed all the way through…you are one funny dude!
It is my dream to become the next Chuck Olsen.
Yes, all hail Verdi!
Thanks for posting the YouTube terms Steve.
Amanda’s vlog-trip is probably the best (least evil) sponsorship you could hope for. Their involvement has pretty much zero impact on the user experience, we don’t even see their logos or anything – they’re just putting up a little money and of course the hybrid to make this whole thing happen.
File under “best practice.”
Just to let you know, the wmv file is nearly unwatchable.
hmm, i wouldn’t say that but it does get squiggly if there’s any camera movement. thanks for letting us know, we’ll see what’s up.
I think this is a really good episode.
what up chuck? and yes chuck is cool.

One of the best interviews yet. Nice to meet you chuck…
Great interview! I love the goatee. Is that the Chuck Olsen from the Mirror Universe?
A really interesting interview -
said in my authentic voice.
Yup, Chuck is cool. Good job. RB is toast!
That was a pretty interesting talk, I like Chuck’s glasses, cool. I wonder what that building next to Gold Medal Flour is, hmm, oh sorry stuff just pops in my head. Great VB from AAA, hey that’s your show Amanda, sweet.
Enjoyed the interview.
Amanda, I really hope that VBlogging is a future plan, not just something you do until you arrive in California.
Rocketboom is still a “guilty pleasure” of mine, but you have won me over once again with your new blog. Great work. Better than ever!
Chuck, regarding your comments yesterday thanks for mentioning the bit of info that hit the cutting room floor. Conspiracy theories can be entertaining in the same way that a good novel is entertaining. But when reality and people’s good intentions get distorted by these “theories” good people get hurt. Not fair.
Thanks for keeping it genuine!
Great episode. Vlogs are the future. Thanks for the interview Amanda.
Chuck Olsen is the best! He’s so handsome and talented and great! Chuck Olsen is the biggest baddest rock star since Huey Lewis!!! I love you Chuck!!!
chuck olsen. the sly stone of blogging.late, unpredictable, too long, but leaves us wanting more.
Hello Chuck,
I made a video responce.
Wow. This is the zenith of interviews. Chuck O. has the great energy of the blog/video movement. I enjoyed this a lot. I can see what good chemistry he has with you Amanda and your whole crew, I’m sure. This was a treat.
