Slow down Amanda! :-)

Well, I don’t know what your budget is, but I certainly hope you can make many more stops along the way. I’m afraid that your audience will just be picking up steam when you arrive in LA!

I hope you don’t skip Houston, the home of Big Oil, including Enron and Halliburton, but I imagine it might be difficult to make it down if you are going through South Dakota.

Enjoy Santa Fe!

An excellent sample of the Colorado Rockies is along I-70 from Denver to Loveland Pass. Loveland Pass itself is a magnificent view.

Also, from Idaho Springs (about 30 miles west of Denver), you can drive up to Mount Evans, about 14,000 feet above sea level. If you go there, bring some munchies for the mountain goats. :-)

Woo. Louisville to Madison for Thursday? Holy cow! Are you stopping by Chicago at all?

I’m assuming that (day) means you’re staying in that city for (day).

Kansas City!

I hope you guys have some fun stuff planned to do in KC.

I don’t know if you have any story ideas for KC yet, but here’s one…
if there is one problem with KC, is that the city has transportation issues. Public transportation is pretty lousy, and there has been a rash of bicyclists being killed by cars, which is hindering the movement to make the city more friendly to bikes and pedestrians. Perhaps you could find someone to talk to about that. Just an idea.

For food, you might enjoy a place called “Grinders” which is a sandwich shop with a ironworks sculpture garden in the back at 18th & Oak downtown, or some great KC Barbecue at legendary Arthur Bryant’s BBQ at 18th & Brooklyn.

Other ideas…
• 18th & Vine Jazz & Negro Leagues Museum
• Liberty Memorial & Union Station
• Country Club Plaza

Hope that helps!

I think it’s wonderful that you are coming to Madison. I thought it unlikely when you did the Greensboro to Nashville swoop. Let me know what you need and how I can help make your Madison passage easy and good. Your work so far has been very moving, consistently uplifting. Thank you for bringing the clean water issues into focus.

hey.. while you’re movin’ on down the road and taking photos of outside scenes, don’t forget to sprinkle in some pics of all of you inside the car. It’ll give us a better sense of “coming along” with you.

Enric - 09/30/2006 17:45:30

What do you plan to do in San Francsico (my area)?

;)

Doug - 09/30/2006 18:22:43

No stops in Utah? You are missing out on some of the country’s most beautiful landscape, especially Moab and Zions Nat’l park. What say ye?

Clintus - 09/30/2006 22:45:20

Where's Amanda??? - 10/02/2006 01:45:55

With the understandable “lag time” between video posts and where you are in real time, it can get a little confusing as to where on the road you actually are.

I thought perhaps some of us might enjoy looking at a real-time satellite map of your whole trip as it unfolded. Since I don’t have the actual roads you are taking I could only guess at your route.
Hopefully I’ve gotten the stops right from reading your previous entries.

My intention is to update the satellite page whenever you let us know in a new post exactly where you are at and I will post it here in the comments section. (If you guys don’t want me to do this let me know and I’ll delete it all)

We are looking forward to your arrival in Madison on Thursday. With Madison being home to Hybridfest, the Nation’s Largest Hybrid Car Show, it is only fitting that you are arriving in a Ford Escape Hybrid!

As Frank said in an earlier post, let us know how we can help make your Madison passage a good one.

Ralph - 10/02/2006 20:36:34

Amanda…why don’t you love my state (Ohio)? Are you still pissed off about the whole ‘04 election thingie? Well it wasn’t my fault…I tried. I tried, Amanda…a lot of us did. We still are, in fact. But we’re good people here in the Buckeye state. We really are. And from one video producer to another, trust me…there’s a lot of great stuff to grab with your ‘lil camera. Hope all is well. :)

Ralph

THIS IS BAD. The mainstream media systematically concealed the facts about 9/11 after that day, making it look like Muslim bogeymen did it; they systematically concealed the facts about the 2004 election that even the House Judiciary Committee said was rigged; and it was independent bloggers and videographers who helped to build public awareness. Corporate-funded bloggers would never have touched these subjects.

Now, it looks like the corporate media are trying to take over even the blogs to quietly censor their content.

Not good! Would you be happy if it turned out that your favorite blogger was being paid off by Fox News or Pravda or CNN? NO!

The only people who think that corporate media taking over blogs is good are the people who know nothing about what is really happening in the USA i.e. that’s it’s becoming a globalist police state, or who want to believe the happy-talk that’s all OK.
