09.24.2006 22:05 Dover, Delaware

<NextPrev>

So we didn’t know that September 22-24 was Nascar weekend in Delaware– and Maryland, and parts of Virginia for that matter. There was no vacancy in any hotels within a 3 hour drive from Dover… so we arrived in Onancock, VA at 4:21 this morning… a little over three hours south of Dover … and finally found some lodging. While we have specific dates that we have to be in certain cities for interviews, we are trying to keep our schedule somewhat flexible so we can play things by ear…and change plans if we need/want to.

We are hooked up with EVDO in the car… which is really saving our asses. Our GPS CDs from Ford are scheduled to arrive at Andy Carvin’s place tomorrow… whew. We’ve gotten lost a few too many times than I’d care to mention… and we’ve only been on the road since Friday (we were bumming around NYC doing interviews last week).

Thanks so much for contributing to the wiki! It’s looking awesome! 33 articles. Wow. Jimmy Wales himself has left an OUTRAGEOUS road trip story. Add yours!! :)

Next stop: Washington D.C.!

Meet-up? If anyone wants to organize a meet-up tomorrow evening… say 7pm… we’d all be down… but I know it’s last minute. Where’s a cool, low-key place to hang out, talk, have a beer?

LATER: Joe C. points out in the comments that it would be a better idea just to organize on the wiki… so here we go… please add your suggestions for places to meet up to the Washington D.C. article….

LATER STILL: Andy Carvin recommends Brickskeller. From the comment section, “It’s half a block north of 22nd and P St NW, just west of Dupont Circle”. OK! SEE EVERYONE THERE AT 7pm!!! THE ENTIRE AAA CREW can’t wait to meet up!!
