I’m going to keep this short, for fear you, my wonderful readers, will chastise me for this post since, yes, it is about a corporate entity.
But I just can’t resist…!
I’m super proud that Dove is sponsoring Starring Amanda Congdon. I worked very closely with Blip to find the right match… and I think Dove is a perfect fit. They are all about real women and real beauty. They are actively working to make women feel more comfortable in their own skin. And that means a lot, because today’s pressures on appearance– for men too, but especially for women–are very real.
When Dove, Blip, Mario and I collaborated on how we’d work together, we thought it would be most fun to have the viewers design an ad that I’d star in– post roll, of course. Whether that means writing dialogue or contributing ideas… it’s all fair game. Please let me know your thoughts on the Wiki.
I love the fact we are experimenting and making history together! When has a host ever co-created an ad with her viewers. I love it! It’s wild.
I think it’s a fantastic idea! And I agree that dove is working in the right direction to make people stop being so typical (not the word I’m looking for–but close) when it comes to judging other people’s beauty. And it is so sad to see someone who looks great be upset because they weigh more than someone else who is the same height–even though they have different body types.
I agree… I’ve actually cried from watching Dove commercials because of their self-esteem messages. Great sponsor for a great girl. I put a few ideas on the wiki for you… let’s see what happens. Love ya, Cx.
You don’t really believe that Dove’s newest ad campaign is sincere do you?
Sorry, but how is coating the skin with the petrochemicals that are in modern lotions, cosmetics and soaps equateable with “real beauty”?
That stuff is not good for the skin, it’s toxic.
People should choose all-natural products. Companies like Dove are not sincere.
