current mood:

I’m happy to announce a new project I’ve been working on: The American Express Members Project.

And no, they aren’t paying me to blog about it… but it’s a pretty cool concept– what am I sitting here typing for! It’s all in the video:

That sounds really neat Amanda. I really admire how you keep branching out and do these new things.

I loved the commercial when I saw it on T.V. and I think it’s great you’re involved in such a worthwhile project.

It is really great to see you doing more and more wonderful things. You have bloomed so much from that long ago ( so it seems ) period of R___boom. It would not have probably happened without it, but what a great developement out of that unfortunate transition. Keep on Bloggin’

When the Amex renewal came in the mail a few months ago I was torn. I have been trying to simplify my life, and one of the biggies was dumping a bunch of the plastic that I’ve latched onto over the years (or maybe it’s the other way around?). I had no qualms about ditching a the bank-issued cards I’d picked up here and there to get a cheapo intro interest rate or some other freebie.

But when it came to Amex I had to stop and think. I’ve had the card forever and it has bailed me out of tight spots more than once — gotta love a card with no pre-set spending limit. I even charged a funeral on it once, honest to God.

In the end I swallowed hard and wrote them a check for 55 bucks, putting off the end of our relationship for another year. Now I’m so glad I did.

All I have to do now is think of a way to spend 4 million bucks (I’ve already deducted the million I’ll need for my new McLaren F1).

I really liked that, Amanda! I thought the imaging was very good; it came off as very professional. I am not an AMEX cardholder nor will I be, but I enjoyed thevideo and the project sounds interesting.

Agree wholeheartedly with John above. We’re getting to the one year anniversary of that particular “Independence Day” and it seems unbelievable you’ve come so far in such a short time. So many projects done so well. ABC transition was in no way a shoe-in, but you’ve found your audience there for sure…#1 overnight with this week’s show, ditto the Indy 500, #1 after a few days with a number of other vids, and a couple of weeks with 2 in the top 5. Your audience has found you. The AMEX project is classy and really benefits from your special “something” which is completely unique and utterly charming. I think the thing I notice most is your comfort and confidence with the camera. You’re right, because that’s where you belong.
